Sister Ramona (Ruth) Johnson, 78, died on December 20, 2008, at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls, Minn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Francis Convent on Tuesday, December 23, at 11 a.m. Friends may call at St. Francis Convent on Monday, December 22, from 4 - 8:30 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral on December 23. A wake service will be held at the Convent at 7 p.m. on Monday, December 22. Arrangements are by the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service.

Sister Ramona was born on May 10, 1930, in St. Augusta, Minn. She was the eighth of nine children born to the late Lawrence and Ursula (Rauch) Johnson. She was accepted as a Franciscan Sister of Little Falls, Minnesota, on July 31, 1950. She made her first profession of vows on August 12, 1952, and final vows on August 12, 1955. She was a Franciscan Sister for 58 years.

Sister Ramona served in health care and ministered to the poor in Mexico and Ecuador.

She served in Alexandria, Breckenridge, Little Falls, Minn.; Milwaukee and South Milwaukee, Wis.; Raymondville and Corrigan, Tex.; Zepita, Peru; Chimayo, N. Mexico; Madera, Mexico; Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Sister Ramona was preceded in death by brothers, Elmer and Ervin and sisters, Grace Latimer and Anice Blumn, Survivors include siblings: Alfred (Elaine) St. Cloud; Margaret (Charles), Hormann, St. Cloud; Alice (Roger) Goenner, Pleasant Mich.; Lawrence (Elaine), Waite Park; Sisters-in-law Alvina, St. Cloud; Eileen, Tacoma, Wash.; brother-in-law James Latimer many nieces and nephews and her Franciscan Community.
