Have you ever asked yourself what a life like the one Saint Francis described would look like?
Have you considered the impact a year of service could have on the hearts of those you serve? On your own?
The Franciscan Community Volunteer Program is designed for just that — a year of intentional community living, dedicated to serving and advocating on behalf of the underserved.
Serving the marginalized in the spirit of Francis and Clare Assisi

Volunteers serve the needy through works of charity, peace-making, social justice activities and advocacy. Your volunteer opportunity will be enriched by intentional community living, prayer, reflection and discussion on the gospel.
The program features 10 months of service with those who are poor in the St. Cloud metro area. Franciscan Community Volunteers are placed in work settings that suit their previous education and experience.
Living in an Intentional Franciscan Community, you will experience shared goals, living the Gospel of peace, love and mutuality. Community living provides an opportunity to live a lifestyle committed to justice and simplicity.

Ongoing formation in the Christian faith, and reflection on the spirit and life of Saints Francis and Clare are a part of the FCV experience. You will have regular opportunities for exploring, understanding and processing the conditions of poverty and its effect on humanity, along with weekly facilitated Franciscan gatherings for input and discussion.
