Our Journey is published three times a year by the Community Relations Department for donors, friends, relatives and employees. This publication shares the journeys of our sisters and associates as they work in joyful service in the spirit of Saints Francis and Clare.

Current Issue: Summer 2010
Called to be Franciscan. Francis and his followers embraced poverty, less as an economic issue than as a theological one. They experienced a renewed understanding of the Incarnation, i.e. Christ emptied himself and took the form of a slave (Phil. 2:7) and in doing this revealed clearly what God is like. The kenosis of Christ became the central image of this renewal movement. It had a message for rich and poor alike, for powerful and powerless. All are called. All are loved. All can and must participate.
The Spirit that moved Saint Francis and his followers in the 13th century continues to move us today. If we listen, we will hear the Word that transforms us, that amazes us. If we open our hearts to this Word, we will be true "Franciscans," that is, wholehearted followers of Christ.
